How do I book a mural consultation?Simply drop us an email in our CONTACT section on this website and we will schedule an appointment with you to discuss your site, location and ideas.
-
What are the costs involved in having a mural completed at my location? There are a number of factors that impact on the cost of each mural project. Book your consultation to determine the following: size and area to be covered surface to be painted (some will require cleaning and an undercoat) elevation of surface to be painted (scaffolding will incur an extra fee) your design or ours (we are happy to adapt your concepts or design something from scratch for you- we are FULL of great ideas!!)
-
Are there any restrictions on bookings?Technically, no. However... The weather can play a big part in being able to meet proposed deadlines so some flexibility is required. Extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) impact on the ability of the paint to cure properly...and the muralist's comfort! Wet weather can really dampen our spirits too, so winter is not always the best time for outdoor projects. Work is undertaken as 'first in, best dressed' so book early if you have an important deadline to meet. We're based on the sunny Central Coast of NSW, Australia. While we love a good road trip as much as the next happy camper, projects located outside the 100km radius will incur a further travel/accomodation fee. TBC on consultation. Only 12 projects per year are accepted.
-
Who will complete the mural? All murals are completed by artist Ange Elder. Ange has been painting murals for over 30 years and generally works solo to bring your vision to life OR can train a small squad to assist in the completion of your project. Depending on the size of the work to be completed, squads can include up to 10 painters who will undergo technical workshops and learn about other aspects of public art projects. Ange has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, school students and staff to facilitate a successful result. The choice is yours!

What do you mean by 'Art as Therapy'?Great question! It is a well researched philosophy that art has the power to impact on our mental health. At #MHP we use 'art as therapy' every day. This simply means we employ artistic imagery or practice to improve wellbeing and mindfulness. By replacing hard surfaces and empty walls with colour and whimsy, we promote happy thoughts and feelings. Seeing and making art is fundamental to our wellbeing, and great therapy.

What is a 'mindful mural'?In today's image based society everything we see is powerful yet not always constructive or helpful. At #MHP we realise the capacity to communicate a positive thought or philosophy is within our reach and almost our duty to convey. During our consultation process, we find out what you're about and what you want to promote, and translate this into a mural. It is our intention that our murals act as a trigger for reflection and mindfulness. Ideologically speaking, we subscribe to the message as much as the visual aesthetics. We hope our work becomes a talking point for more reasons than one, and that positivity permeates as a result.
